SAMPARC  Social Action For Manpower Creation

 Kendra, Indu-Lily Bhavan,96/3/1, M.G. Rd, Kolkata 700 082, W.Bengal. Tel – +91- 033-24029210

The SAMPARC Shishu Kendra, Kolkata was started in the year 2005 at Indu Lila Bhavan, 96/3/1, Mahatma Gandhi Rd, Near 41 Palli Club, Haridevpur, Kolkata – 82, W.Bengal.

Initially the project was started for 20 orphan children from the nearby areas. The main idea was to use the ancestral property of the Banerjee family for philanthropic use only. However the house is very old (almost 35 years old) and needs a lot of renovation and reformation.

Congested rooms

But gradually more number of children got admitted and the present structure was felt to be inadequate. At present there are 35 no of children and the center is known as SAMPARC Shishu Kendra. Due to more no of children admitted (at present 35), the entire home became very congested and the present setup known as SAMPARC Shishu Kendra is found to be inadequate and insufficient in space for the children. Therefore it has been decided to construct another 2 floors comprising of 3200 sq ft area, so that the boys and girls can live properly and separately.

To undertake additional construction of 2 floors, it will require about Rs. 20 lacs, once constructed the whole setup would be adequate to provide accommodation to 20 boys and 20 girls and will provide toilets, bathrooms and kitchen rooms.

The Government of India, Ministry of Finance has entitled those donors to be eligible for 100% Tax Exemption under section 35 AC of the Income Tax Act who give donation to SAMPARC for the purpose of constructing these additional floors. Other donors are entitled for 50 % tax exemption under section 80G.

Already SAMPARC has been able to raise Rs. 5 lacs, the remaining Rs. 15 lacs need to be raised to complete the construction. It is proposed to start the construction from the month of May 2008. SAMPARC requests philanthropic minded people to contribute any amount. Those who will contribute for each floor, their names will be put on the walls.

We therefore request you to help the project by giving your valuable donation to complete the construction for orphan children.

Thanking you,

 Yours sincerely,

Amitkumar Banerjee,

Head – Project Support / Secretary – SAMPARC.
