SAMPARC VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE, UTTAR PRADESH

In September 2015, SAMPARC launched its Rural Skill Development Initiative in Uttar Pradesh by establishing a Vocational Training Centre for Girls at Village Khajuraol, Tehsil Chunar, District Mirzapur, located 24 kilometres from Varanasi.

Encouraged by the positive response from surrounding communities, SAMPARC expanded its efforts. In 2018, it purchased a piece of land at Badagaon, Tehsil Pindra, District Varanasi—just 3 kilometres from Babatpur Varanasi Airport.

Today, the centre offers three vocational courses- Computers, Tailoring and Beauty Parlour that benefit youth from 16 nearby villages. The training is designed to enhance employability and promote self-reliance among marginalized youth, with a special emphasis on empowering girls through practical, skill-based education.

Recognizing the broader needs of the community, SAMPARC also established a boys’ hostel at the same location to support 15 underprivileged children from the Varanasi district. These children are provided with secure shelter, nutritious meals, access to quality education, and personalized guidance for their overall development. The hostel functions as a holistic care model, supporting children to grow into confident, capable, and responsible individuals.

Looking ahead, SAMPARC envisions expanding this initiative through the acquisition of dedicated land for the construction of a permanent vocational training facility and hostel infrastructure. This expansion will enable the organization to accommodate more youth and widen the scope of training programs, thereby deepening its impact in the region.

SAMPARC’s intervention in Uttar Pradesh reflects its unwavering commitment to bridging the educational and economic divide in rural India. By empowering marginalized youth with vocational skills, fostering value-based care, and promoting community participation, SAMPARC continues to build a foundation for sustainable development and self-reliance.
